About Us
Drums of Park Kennels was established in 2012 by the original owners Jim and Sally Christie. After 12 happy years, Jim and Sally took their well-earned retirement in October 2024, and we took over the business.
At Drums of Park Kennels, our mission is to ensure that each dog receives exceptional care in a warm and welcoming environment. With only 11 kennel units, we are a small facility, so we are able to get to know, and meet, all of our boarders' individual needs. Our skilled team strive to make every stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, whether it's for a night, a week or longer.
Our Team
Our team are passionate about all aspects of animal care and welfare, and have a wide breadth of experience. Every member of our team is trained in administering medication, and is qualified in Pet First Aid and CPR, so you can be sure your pets are in safe hands.

Prior to moving to Aberbeenshire I worked as a Registered General Nurse for almost 20 years. Being a nurse, I know that life can be short and full of twists and turns, so in 2023 Sean and I decided to take a leap of faith and chase our dreams! I have always wanted to work with animals (for a while I considered retraining as a Veterinary Nurse) and love being away from the hustle and bustle of busy towns and cities. We thought long and hard and decided to combine all of our deams and in October 2024 we moved 570 miles and took over Drums of Park Kennels.
When I'm not taking care of our boarders I spend most of my time with our 2 Pomchis Mason & Charlie. They love cuddles and fuss and love to curl up on my lap while I read a good book.

Prior to moving to Aberdeenshire I was a postman for 25 years. Although I didn't have my own dogs I used to spend a lot of time helping out with my mum's toy poodle Beau, and when I met Zowie she came as a package with Mason & Charlie! I have always had a passion for animals, and have long wanted a plot of land of my own in the countryside. Being able to run our own business as well is the icing on the cake.
I'm pretty handy with a power tool, so while Zowie takes care of the paperwork I can be found managing the upkeep of the kennels, house and grounds. You'll often see me maintaining the walkways with my ride-on lawnmower, or maybe flying one of my drones when I have a few moments to spare!

Role: Kennel Assistant
Qualifications: Pet First Aid & CPR Level 2

From a young age I always knew I wanted to work with animals. When I left school I tried a few different things but the one thing I really enjoyed was working with dogs. I worked at a boarding kennel near Dyce for a few years and experienced working with a variety of breeds before moving to the Aberchirder area. I then started working at Drums of Park Kennels in March 2022 so I am a familiar face to a lot of our regular boarders.
When I'm not at the kennels I am busy with my own dogs Mac, Hector and Evie who always like to keep me busy. They love to go to the beach for a swim or go on a long forest walk.

Role: Our Pack
Mason, Peanut, Rex and Zico
As well as baording all of your wonderful pups, we have a pack fo 4 of our own.
- Mason our Pomchi - the OG dog - is 14 now and was Zowie's first dog of her own. Shortly after Mason Zowie adopted his littermate Charlie but after several years battling several health issues we sadly lost Charlie in May 2026. Mason loves food and naps and lives for snacks!
- Peanut is our 4 year old Japanese Chin cross, adopted in October 2025 from Saudi Arabia. He was found injured on the streets and required over a year of rehabilitative care in a local vet practice. He is deaf, has cognitive impairments and sustained significant damage to his hind quarters. He's a kooky, quirky boy who loves life and adores everyone he meets.
- Rex is our 8 year old Brittany from Serbia, where he was picked up on the streets and taken to a pound. We adopted him in November 2025. He has clearly sustained some physical damage in the past, coming to us with several scars and no tail, but loves life with a passion!
- 3 year old Central Asian Ovcharka Cross Zico is our most recent adoptee, joining the pack in May 2026. He came to the UK from Saudi Arabia/Dubai in October 2025 having been given up by his previous family only a year after adoption. During that year it seems that clear that he suffered some significant psychological damage and subsequently he has real difficulty trusting people. But when he trusts you, he trusts and loves with his whole heart. He boarded with us for several months and then moved elsewhere to try to help him with his issues. But we had fallen hard for him and when no suitable home had been found by May this year we just couldn't let him continue bouncing from kennel to foster and back.
